Help, Resources & FAQ

How the directory works - listing, products, being found, lead credits, enquiries, chat, plans, moderation and removing a listing.

Getting started

How do I list my business?

Use Add Your Business. You'll confirm your email with a one-time code, then fill in your company details. The listing goes to moderation and appears publicly once it's approved.

Why is there no password?

Logging in sends a one-time code to your email instead. The code is valid for 10 minutes, and you can ask for a new one after 30 seconds. Nothing to remember, and nothing to leak.

Is listing free?

Yes. A free listing appears in search and category results with your address and website. Paid plans rank higher and raise the limits on products, offers, news, blog posts and images - see pricing.

How do I share my listing?

Press Share on your company or product page to send the link by WhatsApp, email or social media, or to copy it. Share your listing in your dashboard also makes ready-made image cards of your company and products, with your contact details on them, to post or send yourself.

How do I log out on my phone?

Open the menu (the three lines at the top right). While you are signed in it lists your Dashboard, Announcements and Lead credits, and Log out at the bottom.

What does “+ on WhatsApp” do when I register?

It copies the number you typed into your listing's WhatsApp field, so visitors can message you there as well as call, and it switches on WhatsApp alerts for your own leads. It's copied once, at signup - change your phone number later and the WhatsApp one stays as it was, editable on its own from your dashboard.

Products & services

What's the difference between my listing and a product?

Your listing is the company. A product or service is one thing you sell, with its own page, photo, price and categories. Visitors browse them together in the marketplace, and a category page shows both - companies on one tab, products and services on the other.

What is the “I'm” question when I add a product?

Which side of the trade the listing is on: selling it, buying it, or providing it as a service. It's required on every product, because the same “₹450 / kg” is an asking price from a supplier and a bid from a buyer - and visitors filter on it. It shows as a badge on your listing whether or not you publish a price.

Why is there a DailySundry logo on my photos?

Product and gallery photos get a small, see-through DailySundry mark in the bottom-right corner when they are saved, so a photo copied from your listing still says where it came from. It is added automatically and cannot be switched off. Your original, without the mark, is kept privately and is not published - you do not need to upload again if the mark ever changes.

Do I have to publish a price?

No. Leave the amount blank and the page says “Price on request”. Turn “Show pricing on the product page” off entirely and visitors see no pricing block at all - not even that. Anything you typed is kept either way, so switching it back on restores it.

How do I put a list or bold text in a description?

Use the three buttons above the description box - bold, italic and bullets. Select the words you want to change, then click. That's the whole set: pasting from Word or a web page brings the words and leaves the styling behind, and there is no way to type HTML in. It keeps every listing on the site readable in the same way, rather than in whatever font and colour its author last used.

How many categories can I choose?

Five, on your company and on each product. It is a limit worth having: with no cap the sensible thing is to tick everything and appear everywhere, and then every category page fills with companies that only half belong there - including yours, next to competitors who did the same. Five that fit will find you more buyers than forty that nearly do.

Why does a service ask different questions?

Because work isn't sold by the kilogram. A service is charged per hour, day, project or session, and carries when you're available and where the work happens. A product asks for a unit and a minimum order quantity instead. Pick “A service provider” and the form swaps to the right set.

Being found

Why does search ask for a keyword when I only typed a place?

Because “India” on its own isn't a search - it's most of the directory, and a page of everything helps nobody. Type what you're looking for and add a place to narrow it. To browse a place without a keyword, start from categories and drill down by country, state and city.

Does a free listing get a map?

Yes. Every listing with an address shows a map and a directions link, on every plan. What a paid plan changes is the look of the page, not whether people can find you.

How do I get higher in results?

Ranking follows the plan first, then how recently the listing was updated. Beyond that, the things that actually get you found: real categories, a complete address, products with proper titles and descriptions, and a logo. See pricing for what each plan changes.

How long until my listing shows on Google?

Once your listing is approved it goes into our sitemap straight away, and new or changed pages are announced to Bing and the other search engines that accept it shortly after. When a search engine crawls and ranks a page is up to the search engine - often a few days, sometimes longer. A complete listing helps: a description, real categories, an address, a logo and products with proper titles.

What is “Recently added”?

A strip of the newest companies, products and services near the foot of a category page and the products & services catalogue. Listings added in the last 90 days can appear there when the list has more than one page of results, so a new business is seen before it has climbed the list. It is automatic - there is nothing to switch on.

What changes the “Last updated” date on my listing?

Saving your business details, and adding or editing a product, service, news post or blog post shown on the listing. Approval moves it too. Reminder emails and other things we do in the background do not, so the date means the listing itself changed.

My company is in a category I never chose.

A company appears under a category if it carries that category itself, or if any of its live products does. Tag a product “Logistics” and your company shows under Logistics too. Change the product's categories and the listing follows immediately.

Lead credits

What is a lead credit?

It's what you spend to open a company you want to reach. Sending them an enquiry, sending your first message in a chat, or revealing their contact details each spend one - but only the first time with that company. Opening a chat window costs nothing; the credit goes when you write.

I started a chat and no credit was taken. When does it go?

When you send your first message in it. It used to wait for the company to answer, which meant the charge depended on somebody else replying - you could open five conversations and be charged for none of them, or for all of them a week later. Now it is the act you control that costs, and it costs once: that company is then open to you for enquiry, chat and contact details together for the rest of the term - and its contact details stay open to you after that.

Does contacting the same company twice cost two credits?

No. One credit opens a company for all three - enquiry, chat and contact details - for the rest of your plan term. Only a company you haven't opened before costs another credit. The contact details go further: once you have seen them, they stay visible to you in later terms too, without another credit.

This company shows no phone number at all. Why?

Either it is a free listing, or its owner has chosen to keep their details off the page. Both work the same way for you: press Show, and if you have an allowance left the number, WhatsApp and email are handed over - and they stay visible to you from then on, when you come back to the page and in later terms, without pressing Show or spending a credit again. Nobody's details are hidden from you permanently - a business is on a directory to be reached.

Can I see a phone number without an account?

Yes, a small number a day. After that you are asked to register, which is free. We count the free reveals with a cookie on your browser and log each one, so the details stay protected from scripts.

Where do I see what's left?

In the header while you're logged in, and in full on Lead credits, which lists every company you've opened and shows which action was charged and which were free. Every contact you've unlocked is listed under Revealed contacts.

What are the enquiry and chat limits on my own listing?

Those are separate: they cap how many of the leads sent to you that you can read per term. Leads past the cap still arrive and you're still notified - the sender's contact details stay locked until you top up or upgrade. The balance is shown on your Enquiries and Chat pages.

My allowance refilled. Why is that older enquiry still locked?

Because a lead is counted against the term it arrived in, not the term you are in now. A refill is headroom for what arrives next, not a fresh look at what came before - otherwise the limit would be a delay rather than a limit, and every lead over it would open by itself a month later. Nothing is lost: a locked lead never expires and is never deleted. Unlock that one on its own, or move to a plan whose higher limit covers it, and the oldest locked leads open first.

Enquiries & chat

It says I have five chats open, but my list shows more.

There are three fives in chat and they are unrelated. Your browser keeps at most five chat windows on screen at once - close one and you can open another, and closing one ends nothing. You can send five messages to a company that has not yet replied, which resets the moment they do. And there is no cap on how many conversations you hold at all. What actually governs how many companies you can reach is your credits, not any of those.

A conversation says it has been stopped.

Either the company stopped it, or we did. Both sides see the same reason, written by whoever stopped it. A company can restart one it stopped itself; one we stopped stays stopped until we lift it, and the place to ask is support.

A chat says the company is no longer available.

That account has been closed, so the conversation no longer accepts messages and nothing further is emailed about it. What was already said stays where it is. Nothing you spent on that company is lost against any other - a credit opens a company, and the rest of your term is unaffected.

Why am I asked to verify before starting a chat?

Because a chat creates an account and a half-finished listing before anyone has proved the address is theirs, and that is exactly what a script would abuse. You may see a short automated check, and a code is emailed to the address you give. Every public form that writes something does the same - registration, log in, enquiries, support and removal requests.

The “on WhatsApp” box is already ticked. Why?

Because you are signed in and your account already gives that same number as your WhatsApp one, so we are not going to ask you twice. Untick it and it stays unticked. If your WhatsApp number is different from the phone number on the form, the box starts empty on purpose - ticking it would send the wrong number.

What can the company see about me - and what can I see about them?

They see what you typed, and, if you have a listing of your own here, its website and address, so they know who is asking them to quote. They do not see your IP address, your browser, or where your connection appears to be, and neither do you see theirs - those are recorded for abuse investigations and are visible only to us. The Privacy Policy sets out what is kept and for how long.

Someone enquired but I can't see their details.

That lead is past your plan's readable limit for this term. Unlock that one lead with a top-up, or upgrade the plan to raise the limit - older leads unlock in the order they arrived.

Do I get notified when someone messages me?

Yes - by email when you're offline, with a link straight to the conversation, and on WhatsApp if you've switched those alerts on. Chats reach you as they are written; an enquiry reaches you once our team has checked it isn't spam. If a lead sits unread we'll remind you once after two days and again after a week. Set your chat status from the dashboard so visitors can see whether you're likely to reply now.

A visitor's number shows a WhatsApp link. What is that?

They ticked “on WhatsApp” when they wrote to you, which is them telling you that number takes WhatsApp. It sits with the rest of their contact details on Enquiries, behind the same lock - a lead you haven't unlocked shows no contact details of any kind.

Can I stop a conversation?

End the chat and both sides get a transcript by email. Listing owners can also block a conversation.

Plans & payment

My plan publishes my phone number. Can I turn that off?

Yes, and you keep everything else. On a paid plan your phone, WhatsApp, email and contact name are printed on your page for anyone to read; tick Hide my contact details on my public page on your business details and they come off the page and out of its source entirely. A signed-in member can still ask for them, the way they would on a free listing, and they still spend a credit to do it. Your page design, your gallery, your ad-free page and your position in search are untouched - this is a choice about your number, not a smaller plan. Untick it whenever you like.

Will my plan renew automatically?

No. A plan runs for the term shown at checkout and then lapses - nothing is charged again unless you buy again. There's no subscription to cancel.

Can I pay in dollars?

Yes. The pricing page has a currency switch, and the price you see is the price charged - rupees and dollars are set separately rather than converted at checkout. A plan with no dollar price simply isn't offered in dollars, so the list can be shorter when you switch.

Can I get a refund?

Once a plan is live it isn't refundable, and unused credits expire with their term. There are cases we do refund in full - a double charge, or a payment that never activated anything. The Refund & Cancellation Policy sets out all of it.

What happens when my plan ends?

The listing stays - it drops to the free tier. Anything above the free limits is hidden rather than deleted, and comes back automatically if you upgrade again. Billing shows the term and what you've bought.

Moderation

How long does approval take?

New listings and new content are reviewed by an admin before they go public. You'll get an email either way.

I sent an enquiry. Why hasn't the company replied?

Every enquiry is read by our team before it is passed on, so spam never reaches businesses - that takes a little time. After that the company decides when to answer. If you need a quicker reply, start a chat from the listing instead: chat messages are not held for review.

My product / news / offer was rejected.

The reason is attached to the item and emailed to you, and everything rejected is collected under Notices. Fix what was flagged and save - editing sends it back for review.

What isn't allowed?

The short version: be a real business under its own name, say what's true, and don't harvest the contact details you unlock. The Use Policy is the full list, and it's the one we enforce most readily on contact details, because breaking that rule harms the businesses who trusted us with them.

A listing that isn't yours to begin with

My company is listed and I never signed up.

Many listings are registered on the website by the business itself - the owner, or a member of the company's team, such as someone in sales or marketing - so a colleague may have listed it without telling you. Other listings were compiled from outside sources - information businesses had already published, data from commercial suppliers, and details worked out by automated tools - rather than entered by the company. Those compiled listings say so on the page. Where listings come from explains it in full.

Where does this listing come from?

Many listings are registered on the website by the business itself - by its owner, or by a member of the company's team acting for it - who proved an email address and entered the details. The rest are compiled by us from two kinds of source: business information that was already public, such as a company's own website or an online business directory, and business data licensed from commercial data providers. Some details, such as an email address, may have been worked out by an automated tool from a public source. Only business details are published - the company name, address, categories, website, business phone and email - so that buyers can find the company. Contacts in a compiled listing are never sent our marketing email. If it is your company, you can ask us which source your listing came from: email legal@dailysundry.com and we will tell you what our records show, free, within 30 days. The Privacy Policy covers it in full.

How do I take it over, or get it removed?

Both start at Claim, remove or report a listing. Claim it and it becomes yours to edit; ask us to remove it and we will, free, without asking you to justify it and without needing an account. We act within 7 days of confirming the request, usually sooner.

Something on a listing is wrong or shouldn't be there.

Report it from the same page and a person will read it. If it's a legal matter, or you're unhappy with how we handled a request, the Grievance Officer is named in the Terms, with the response times we hold ourselves to.

Email, privacy & your data

How do I stop the emails?

Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link, and one click is enough. Service mail - a login code, a payment receipt, a moderation decision - keeps coming, because it's about something you did rather than something we're promoting.

How do I turn WhatsApp alerts off?

Clear the alerts box on your business details and save. That stops us messaging you; your WhatsApp number stays on the listing for visitors unless you clear that too.

What do you keep about me?

The Privacy Policy is specific about it - what's held, why, who it goes to, and for how long. Chat transcripts, enquiries and consent records are kept for disputes and to email you copies; message bodies in the mail log are pruned after 180 days.

Can I close my account?

Yes - ask us from Contact us or the Grievance Officer address, and say which listing it is. Your chat and enquiry history keeps its author so the other side's records still make sense, but the account stops being a member and the listing comes down.

How do I get a copy of my data, or have it corrected or deleted?

Email the Grievance Officer at the address in the Privacy Policy from the address on your account, and say what you want. You can ask what we hold and who has seen it, get a copy, have it corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, or nominate someone to act for you. We may ask you to confirm who you are, and we answer within 30 days, free of charge - wherever in the world you are.
